Seafront in Bournemouth means one of three things: on the clifftop with a sea view, on the promenade (rare, and expensive), or in Sandbanks directly on the beach. This roundup covers all three, honestly rated by our sea-view methodology.
Sea-view rating explained.
Our five-wave sea-view rating asks: how many rooms in the property actually face the sea, and what proportion of the frame is water rather than promenade, cars, or the roof of a lower building. A 5/5 hotel has more than 80 percent sea-view rooms with unobstructed water. A 3/5 has half its rooms facing the sea, half looking inland. A 1/5 markets itself as seafront but almost no rooms have a real view.
